Our theme will be: ‘The Compelling Call of the Soul’.
There is a compelling call resounding throughout the ethers for us to wake up, shape up and show up. An alarm bell is sounding as an urgent reminder from the soul for us to shift from acting as separate and self-centered units of consciousness focused on survival to embrace an expanded awareness of ourselves as co-creative partners with Life who have the power to make a positive difference.
This urgent request to act with daring, caring and compassion and craft new ways of living together that truly serve the good of the whole is growing in volume with every passing day. The call to wake up, shape up and show up means that we must first stir from our spiritual slumber and shake off the shackles of forgetfulness and ego-centric living before we are able to show up as causal agents of a shared and preferred future.
Christopher Frye gives voice to this deep call in his poem, ‘The Sleep of Prisoners’:
Thank God our time is now, when wrong comes up to face us everywhere! Never to leave us till we take the longest stride of soul men ever took. Affairs are now soul-sized. The enterprise is exploration into God. Where are YOU making for? It takes so many thousand years to wake, But will you wake, for pity’s sake
We will explore the profound nature of what is being asked of us, review the current state of tension and transition in the world and seek to understand the opportunities available for the emergence of new forms of living that are more in resonance with the soul.
